On April 18, 2007, the high-speed rail expansion project of the West Hainan Railway was completed. Since then, the railway in Sanya has been connected via the Qiongzhou Strait (by ferry) in Haikou with the railways in Mainland China. There are through trains from Sanya to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, etc., which provide visitors with a new alternative as to how to get to Sanya. Visitors from overseas can also take the through train to Sanya from Beijing or Shanghai so that they will enjoy the splendid scenery of both Chinese inland and the Hainan Island. Besides, taking the ferry across the Qiongzhou Strait is also a great pleasure.

Traffic around Railway Station:

Bus: You can take Bus No.4, No.5, No.10, No.20, No.22, No.30, or No.31 to the Railway Station. The first four buses are recommended. The ticket price is usually one yuan per person.

Taxi: It will take you about 30 yuan from the Railway Station to downtown, 40 yuan to Dadonghai Square, and 60 yuan to Yalong Bay.

Notice: Passengers can purchase their tickets 20 days ahead of the departure date via ticket windows at the station, by ticket vending machines, or on the Internet. And a service fee of five yuan is charged for a return ticket or a ticket of which Sanya is not the departure place.
