The Airport now has flights to 63 domestic and overseas cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, Xi’an, Urumqi, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guiyang, Guilin, Harbin, etc. Citizens from countries that maintain a diplomatic relationship with China can apply for a visa on arrival with their passports at the entry port of Hainan Province. Service Tips: According to the New Regulation On Banning Passengers With Liquid Articles From Taking Domestic Flights, passengers are prohibited to take any liquid articles with them when boarding domestic flights. Instead, they can consign such items as coconuts, mineral water, etc., before boarding.

Airport Traffic

Airport shuttle: The departure time is flexible depending on the flights, and you can take the coach from the Airport exit for 15 yuan per person. It takes about 45 minutes to the downtown area. At present, the coach from Sanya to the Airport is not available.

Routes: Airport Road——Sanya Bay Road——Jiefang Road——Yuya Avenue——Dadonghai Square. You will pass by Sanya Bay Holiday Village, Jinglilai Holiday Hotel, Lanhai Garden, Bihailantian Community and Dongfang Hotel.

City bus: Bus No.8 from downtown to the Airport is available. Routes: Yuya Avenue——Guochaojianqiao Bridge——Sanya Bridge——Jiefang Road——Sanya Bay Road——Haihong Road——Airport Road——Phoenix Airport. The ticket price is eight yuan per person. You can take Bus No.2 or No.4 to Dadonghai Square from downtown at two yuan per person. And Bus No.27 can take you directly to Yalong Bay from Phoenix Airport.

Taxi: It will take you about 25 minutes and cost 50 yuan from the Airport to downtown, 60 yuan to Dadonghai Square, and 100 yuan to Yalong Bay.

Notice: Air ticket prices in March are lower than any other time, as the shoulder season of Sanya (no off season here) begins and the number of tourists decreases. But once April comes, major airlines will reduce their flights to Sanya based on the passenger flow volume (Flights will be cut down by nearly 50% after March 27th), and will not increase the flights until the real peak season approaches.
