As a most convenient means of transportation, taxis in Sanya charge a relatively low price. The minimum charge is 8 yuan covering the first two km, and 2 yuan for each subsequent kilometer. The reading on the meter will increase by one-yuan every 500 meters. If the single trip has exceeded 10km, an additional fee will be charged at 1 yuan for each subsequent kilometer. The additional fee of five yuan, charged during National Day and the Spring Festival, has been abolished.
