Record Toronto Tourism Traffic and Consumption in 2015

Toronto Tourism Bureau announced a few days ago, the industry of tourism in Toronto for the sixth consecutive year to maintain steady growth, and Toronto’s overnight visitors reached a record 14.03 million. In addition, there are 26 million tourists who chose Toronto as a preferred one-day tour destination. Throughout the year a total of 40.04 million international visitors visited Toronto. Tourists visiting Toronto spent a total of 7.2 billion Canadian dollars, which is in recent years, the best performance of the tourism industry in economic activities.

In 2015, Toronto received a total of 725 meetings and related activities; 356,600 business travelers visited Toronto and actual consumption amounted to CAD$417 million. At the beginning of the year 2016, Toronto Tourism Bureau and its partners have received 751 new reservations. 351,900 business passengers are expected to visit Toronto, which will have a direct consumption of CAD$376 million.
