【Introduction】:Peruvian capital Lima is set to host the World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony for the second time
Peruvian capital Lima is set to host the World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony for the second time.
As Destination Partner for the event, PromPerú, the official tourism body of the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Tourism of Peru, will welcome industry leaders from across the continent to Swissôtel Lima on July 1st, 2016.
Speaking ahead of the event, minister of foreign trade and tourism, Peru, Magali Silva Velarde-Álvarez, said: “We warmly welcome you to Lima and invite you to discover all the wonders that our city has to offer due to the great cultural diversity from our different eras, the Inca, colonial and republican, our people, museums, nightlife, its coastline and its renowned cuisine.”
“Thanks to the economic and political stability that our country has experienced in recent years, tourism has managed to take off and benefit more people.”
“Therefore, I thank the World Travel Awards for bringing to Lima, once again, the only award ceremony that recognises the efforts made by governments and entrepreneurs to boost the travel industry and tourism in the region.”
World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the World Travel Awards brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.
Each year WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective successes within each key geographical region.
World Travel Awards president Graham Cooke said: “The involvement of PromPerú in the upcoming World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony illustrates the significance of the event for regional tourism.”
“The Gala Ceremony is sure to be a highlight of the hospitality calendar in Latin America in 2016, and I look forward to welcoming our nominees to Peru for the second time.”
WTA Gala Ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries, and international print and broadcast media.
