Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is gearing up for a 2017 full of firsts.
The all-inclusive luxury cruise line announced Monday that it plans to roll out a pair of new itineraries in 2017 as well as new amenity policies and the inauguration of the fleet's first super ship to sail the iconic Seine River.
Here we'll break down what travelers can expect from Uniworld in 2017.
New Itineraries
Uniworld will launch two new itineraries next year. Bookable now, the two 10-day journeys through Europe will be known as the Rhine-Main Discovery & Munich and the Paris & Impressions of the Seine.
The former features Jewish heritage excursions on all departures, during which guests can experience a guided half-day excursion to the Dachau concentration camp in Munich.
The Paris & Impressions of the Seine itinerary takes guests through Northern France, where they will explore the countryside that influenced some of the works of Van Gogh, Monet and Courbet and other artists.
The cruise will pass through Normandy, the UNESCO-designated Le Havre and étretat.
New Policies
Beginning next year, Uniworld will include all port fees in the total cost of the cruise in an effort to simplify the booking process and improve the guest experience.
What's more, the Los Angeles-based collection will roll out 24-hour room service as well as round-the-clock in-suite butler services.
Meanwhile, the cruise line will introduce a new onboard Concierge service designed to allow guests to personalize their itinerary based on their interests.
New Super Ship
Uniworld's new ship, the S.S. Joie de Vivre, will be inaugurated in March 2017 before becoming the cruise line's first super ship to sail on the Seine River.
The 410-foot-long, 128-guest ship will sail Uniworld's Paris & Normandy itinerary and become the first of the cruise line's fleet to dock in Paris.
"With the addition of two new compelling itineraries, new personalized onboard amenities and a new exquisite ship, Uniworld is excited to enter 2017," said the cruise line's recently appointed president and CEO Ellen Bettridge in a statement.
