A few days back, the government of Canada has brought its New Tourism Vision to the forefront. It’s a 20-point plan which targets to boost the number of overseas visitors entering Canada by 30 percent by 2021. For the Chinese market, the government aimed an even higher target, as part of this plan.

In the coming four year, the agreement focuses to double the number of Chinese tourists coming to Canada. Not to forget, if these targets are met, Canada will certainly establish itself as one of the top 10 most visited countries in the world by 2025. To display the strategy of the government, Bardish Chaggar, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Tourism was at the Rendez-vous Canada trade show in Calgary on May 11.

For would-be tourists, the product is already in place. Canada has been recognized as the top international destination for 2017 by the New York Times, Lonely Planet and Condé Nast respectively. As we all know that Canada is world famous for its gorgeous hills, bustling cities, friendly culture, and international festivals. Besides, superlative culinary scene and a steady and secure environment, have contributed immensely to growth in tourism numbers to the country over recent years.

The number of international travelers to Canada grew by 7.5 percent to reach 17.8 million ever since 2015. Last year, the country greeted almost 20 million tourists which is a further increase of 11 percent. At this rate, an overall increase of 30 percent is forecasted between 2017 and 2021 respectively.
