A German bicycle company, called CUBE Bikes, has been shooting its annual catalogue in Sligo. The catalogue – which will be read by some 350,000 outdoor enthusiasts in Germany, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Britain – will feature images of mountain biking, surfing and fat bike cycling in and around Sligo! The visit by the CUKE Bikes team is supported by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The team has also been filming several online videos here, which will be shared on the CUBE Bikes website and through its social channels, including Facebook (315,000 fans) and Instagram (almost 50,000 followers).
Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland's Manager for Central Europe, said: "Tourism Ireland was delighted to work with CUBE Bikes, to highlight the many great activities on offer in Sligo, though its annual catalogue. It provides an excellent opportunity to showcase adventure holidays and the spectacular scenery of Sligo and the Wild Atlantic Way to a large audience in Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland – inspiring readers and outdoor enthusiasts to come and explore this part of Ireland for themselves."
Latest CSO figures confirm that arrivals from Mainland Europe for the January to May period grew by +4% – with important markets like Germany, France, Spain and the Nordic region continuing to perform well.
