A photo and video contest themed on tourism in China kicked off in New York City on Friday, aiming to introduce more distinctive Chinese cultural elements and tourist attractions to the rest of the world.
The contest, co-sponsored by the China National Tourist Office in New York and the North America Photography Association, is part of the U.S. 2019 China Tourism Cultural Week organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.
Participants across the globe are welcomed to submit their photography works, either photos or videos that feature China's natural and cultural landscapes.
The date of submission is expected to start from May 16 and will close on June 15, according to the organizer.
Kuang Lin, chief of China National Tourist Office in New York, said that the lens of a camera can help depict China's breathtaking scenery more vividly. He also hoped the event will serve as a platform to help people around the world appreciate the charm of Chinese culture and landscape via an immersive experience.
