Japan Earned the WTTC Global Champion Award for Crisis Preparedness, Management & Recovery at the WTTC Global Summit in Seville, Spain!

Japan has been chosen as the recipient of the 2019 WTTC Global Champion Award for Crisis Preparedness, Management & Recovery that was awarded at the 19th WTTC Global Summit held in Seville, Spain in April. 

Jun Takashina, Vice Commissioner from the Japan Tourism Agency represented the Japanese delegation to receive the award at this event.

On the following day of the award ceremony, Japanese delegation held a "Japan Updates Conference" where they shared Japan's current tourism situation with the world's media. 

"We could not achieve this award without close cooperation between government and private sector, and we feel responsible to continue to improve our crisis preparedness together and share our experience with our friends and counterparts all over the world."- Mamoru Kobori, Senior Advisor from Japan National Tourism Organization commented at the Conference.

The WTTC Global Champion Awards are annual awards recognizing countries and public officials who have made notable achievements through their public policies and leadership. Japan is viewed as a world leader in crisis readiness and is held in high regard when it comes to its efforts in providing information etc. concerning disasters to the increasing number of foreign visitors and foreign residents in Japan.

This year, the inaugural WTTC Global Champion Awards recognized Japan and other six countries from 185 around the world.
