Great Waikiki Beer Festival hits the beach Aug. 24

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort bring brews back to the beach Aug. 24 with the fifth installment of the Great Waikiki Beer Festival.

The event offers the opportunity to taste more than 100 seasonal, local and craft beers from Hawaii, the U.S. mainland and abroad. Additionally, there is a full slate of live entertainment and array of food booths.

Local breweries will be featuring specialty and limited-release beers, including the Hawaii exclusive 25th anniversary beer, Hibiscus Brut IPA, and limited Macadamia Nut Vanilla Imperial Lager from Kona Brewing.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village culinary team will create barbecue-themed and beer-friendly dishes for the affair, including kiawe-smoked beef brisket with bourbon mango barbecue sauce, IPA-infused buffalo chicken wings and Chinese-style smoked pork ribs.

In addition to general admission tickets ($60) that include 10 beer tastings, there is a VIP pass ($80) offering early entry to the festival, and access to an exclusive area with special beer releases, a selection of wines, and signature cocktails.
