A new $48 millon cruise pier has opened at Port Zante in Basseterre.
The addition of the pier will enable the port to accommodate up to three of the largest cruise ships at the same time.
"We can now look forward to much larger ships starting to include St. Kitts in their itineraries, including the new future Oasis-class vessels from Royal Caribbean and even the new LNG generation ships from the Carnival Corp.," said Lindsey Grant, tourism minister for St. Kitts and Nevis.
St. Kitts welcomed more than 1 million cruise passengers on 517 cruise calls in the 2018-2019 cruise season, according to the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority.
