Disneyland getting new parade, Avengers Campus

A new parade, Magic Happens, is one of several new Disneyland Resort additions in 2020. Another is a new themed land, the Avengers Campus, in Disney California Adventure Park.

On Feb. 28, the new parade will debut in Disneyland Park. Magic Happens will feature multiple floats, with some inspired by films "Frozen 2," "Coco" and "Moana."

The parade will feature a new song co-composed by Todrick Hall. It celebrates "awe-inspiring moments of magic that are at the heart of so many Disney stories," Disney said. It will be led by Mickey Mouse and friends.

In Disney California Adventure Park, the Avengers Campus will open in 2020. The exact date has yet to be announced, but the land will feature Disney's first ride-through attraction featuring Spider-Man. Guests will enter the attraction at the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or WEB, for an open house. They will get the chance to test-drive the latest invention, the Web-Slinger vehicle, and help Spider-Man collect rogue Spider-Bots.

Guests can expect encounters with Ant-Man and the Wasp, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther and the Dora Milaje bodyguards, Thor, and Iron Man.

Avengers Campus will have a themed restaurant, Pym Test Kitchen.

Avengers Headquarters, a building that will eventually become the entrance to a new attraction, will for now enable guests to get caught up in the action of the Avengers, like watching superheroes battle intruders.

On Jan. 17, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park. The attraction opened earlier this month at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The attraction is the second to open in Galaxy's Edge, which opened on May 31 with one main attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. That marked the opening of the largest single-land expansion ever at Disneyland.

Disneyland Park and the Disneyland Hotel both celebrate their 65th anniversaries in 2020.
