Tourism Fiji Awarded 'The Outstanding Organization Award' by China International Tourism Industry Expo Committee

Tourism Fiji was awarded the “Outstanding Organization Award" at China International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) 2020 held in Guangdong on Sep 11.

With 15 years of development, CITIE has become one of the most influential market-oriented international tourism exhibitions in China. It attracts worldwide high-quality tourism destinations, service providers, and suppliers, providing a professional platform for sharing worldwide information, purchasing products, and business development for exhibitors as well as buyers from all over the world.

Tourism Fiji has participated in CITIE for three consecutive years and has conducted close and in-depth communication and exchanges with the majority of industry peers and tourism consumers through the exhibition platform. Tourism Fiji made its first appearance at the exhibition after the Covid-19 outbreak, demonstrating Fiji’s rich and high-quality tourism resources, products, and services.

This year, the annual award ceremony is organized by the CITIE committee and it was held during the exhibition day, recognizing and rewarding excellence in the tourism industry for their exceptional leadership and achievements especially amid Covid-19.

Tourism Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Matthew Stoeckel said, “The team were thrilled to be recognized for their contributions and leadership in the China market with the Award. The Award recognized how the team rapidly responded to the challenges presented by COVID19 with a revised strategy and activities that has put Fiji in a great position for when borders reopen.”.

Fiji was awarded ‘Top 10 Family Travel Destination’ by National Tourism media group at the 2020 National Tourism Fashion Awards early this year. The “Outstanding Organization Award‘’ is another great recognition for Tourism Fiji for its outstanding leadership in the market. Although the Covid-19 crisis has brought international travel to a standstill, Tourism Fiji has launched a series of market initiatives to support the industry partners during this difficult time, this includes early bird promotion campaign and a series of online training webinars to name just a few.

Tourism Fiji Regional Manager in Greater China, Mr. Vincent Zheng said, “This award is high recognition for the enormous efforts and achievements of our China team. In the wake of Covid-19, we have developed the Four-Stage Market Re-entry Plan focusing on restoring traveller confidence and stimulating demand in order to coordinate an aligned return to the market. We’re committed to supporting our industry partners to explore and carry out effective marketing activities to rebuild the market.”
