Stalls selling Herrings can be seen everywhere in the streets of Amsterdam. The fresh raw Herrings combined with chopped onions and pickled cucumbers tastes very unique. The best season for tasting Herrings is from May to July every year. It’s said that the meat quality of Herrings caught in this period is freshest and sweetest.
