Sea urchin is called “Ciguozi” in Dalian. The purple sea urchins produced in Xiaoping Island and Changhai County is the best. Every year, from June to the mid-September is the best period for eating it. Grown sea urchins are ginger yellow colored. No matter if they are eaten raw, steam with eggs, or cooked into soup, it all tasted with a gentle sea flavor.
