The "pastel de nata" is Lisbon’s best-known cake. Try it in the city’s cafés and patisseries.

Pastéis de nata were created in the 18th century by Catholic monks at the Jerónimos Monastery. Since 1837, locals and visitors to Lisbon have visited the bakery to purchase Pastel de Nata.
