Seoul World Cup Stadium is the largest soccer stadium in Asia. Located in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, it was built especially for the Korean-Japanese joint hosting of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

The 2002 FIFA World Cup was held in Asia for the first time. With the support of its fans, Korea made it to the semi-finals for the very first time. The stadium is currently used as the home base for FC Seoul and has become a landmark for both international and domestic sports events, concerts, and other cultural functions. The exterior of the stadium was designed like the royal sailboats and Bangpae Kites. It was voted as one the "world's top 10 thrilling stadiums" by "World Circle," an international soccer magazine. Visitors are welcome to tour the stadium except on days when a sports or other event is going on, and the field can also be used with permission.

Digital Media City (DCM) and the World Cup Park with the World Cup Mall and Supercenter, Complex Cinema, Sports Center are all inside the complex. When there are no sports events, the stadium is used as a concert hall or an assembly hall with volunteers who are fluent in foreign languages, attracting many foreign tourists.
