Hengshan Road is the largest and most attractive bar street in Shanghai, which includes Hengshan Road, Urumqi and Dongping Road. Charming buildings and scenery along this road such as flourish French plane trees, sidewalk fences of European style, reddish brown sidewalk and European style villas of different colors built in 1920s all present the prosperity and customs of Shanghai to people.
Hengshan Road at night is decorated with sparkling neon lights. Exquisite bars, all varying in size and style make it so people are reluctant to leave. Bourbon Street evokes passion, and Sasha is a sheer English bar. Lapis Lazuli feels like new and classic Chinese style. Back in Time puts you in a small tea house in Shanghai of 1920s. Elegant and quiet, La Villa Rouge is a combination of the Chinese and foreign styles. A number of bars are reconstructed on the basis that its old location once had a lot of legendary stories. For example the former residence of Liu Haisu on Fuxing Road, Lanni’s residence on Sinan Road, and Sasha Bar, the former home of Jiang Jieshi and Song Meiling. The modernization and classicality is like a kind of magic which enchants more and more fashion icons of Shanghai Bund.
