Defu alley is in the north of the Xiangzimiao Street. It is an old alley with a history which can be dated back to the Sui Dynasty. During ancient times, it was a part of the palace city. 20 years had passed since the alley was reconstructed, the meandering flag stone road can always keep a mild plain lingering charm, regardless the cafes and bars constantly changes. The length is only 272 meters though, visitors cannot directly see the entire alley at a time whether they enter it from the Fenxiang with the “Defuxiang” dolmen, or from the Xiangzimiao with the “Defutiandi” stone torii. People have to make turns one after another in order to reach to the end of the alley. Nowadays, the alley is a famous bar street in Xi’an. The antique architectures, cafes, bars, and teahouses are well arranged layer by layer, making the alley rather bourgeois sentimental.
