The opening ceremony of the 52nd International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Annual Congress took place on November 3 in Shanghai. CNTA Vice Chairman Du Yili, Vice Mayor Zhao Wen of the Shanghai Municipal Government, and ICCA president Arnaldo Nardone jointly started the congress in Shanghai International Convention Center.

The five-day congress is organized by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, with the participation of more than 940 elites and practitioners of convention tourism industry from over 60 countries/regions. Like previous sessions, the “self-paying” principle for participants is strictly followed. During the congress, business exchanges and trainings in different fields, marginal meetings, and off-site educational programs are organized to target at future trends of the industry and convey most advanced thinking, brand-new business ideas, and cutting-edge methods for market development. In addition, activities for theme promotion are held in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, presenting to world peers more about the destination of this year’s congress.

ICCA, founded in 1963, is one of the most renowned organizations specialized in the convention industry. Its members cover more than 1,000 companies and organizations from over 90 countries and regions. There are nearly 40 ICCA members in Chinese Mainland, the most among Asia-Pacific countries.
