【Introduction】:A grand light show to be hosted in the Canal Square featuring 365 silk umbrellas and silk fans along the flank of the canal

During Spring Festival this year in Hangzhou, people planning to stay at home will have another choice to enjoy Chinese New Year’s Eve, a grand light show to be hosted in the Canal Square featuring 365 silk umbrellas and silk fans along the flank of the canal. In addition, people can also go along Lishui Road all the way to Daguan Road to watch the landscape gallery lights exhibition.

The administrative office of Gongshu district said that the Lishui Road landscape gallery lighting promotion project is by far the largest of its kind hosted on the main city roads that features a lighting exhibition.

Residents living in and around the Lishui Road community should have already felt the changes that the New Year is ushering in.

In the center of Lishui Road, nearly 7,000 square meters of green belts have been installed to provide good illumination for visitors traveling at night, which in turn also cast a special silhouette for the water ripples.

A total of 25 sycamore trees have been planted along the river, with 100 sets of lights equipped beside, the color of which will change according to the temperature, creating a slide show of the four seasons.

Under Dengyun Bridge and Qingfang Bridge, there are beautiful landscape lampposts. The facade sections of the Foreign Languages Institute, starting from Dahu Road to Jinhong Road, are used as a screen, reflecting images of interesting subjects, such as letters combination and flowers.

According to the administrative office of Gongshu district, more lightning exhibitions and projects will be unveiled for the 2015 Spring Festival and Lantern Festival.

There will be a temporary light show themed on umbrellas and fans in the Canal Square and the west side of Lishui Road. There will be 365 colorful mini umbrellas and fans made of Hangzhou traditional handicraft silk.

These umbrellas and fans will be placed on green belts on both sides of the road. Supported by the LED technique, they will look like many stars twinkling on the ground.

"These umbrellas and fans will be further used as props for the celebration of the Lantern Festival, National Day and other major holidays in the Canal Square," an officer of the administrative office of Gongshu district said.

The focus of Gongshu district lighting engineering is mainly on the Canal Square and festive lights on Jinhua Road this year. Apart from the current lighting equipment, the administrative office of Gongshu district proposed to do more to improve the decorative effects of the Canal Square, Canal Museum and the central fountain on Jinhua Road. The lantern show on Canal Square will become a long-standing project for local citizens on festival days.
