Silk Road-themed Jinsha Sun Festival kicks off in Chengdu

The 2015 Jinsha Sun Festival has kicked off in the Jinsha Relics Museum in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province in Southwest China, adding to the Spring Festival atmosphere.

Besides appreciating colorful lanterns, performances and flowers, local residents and visitors can also taste mouth-watering food at the Sun Festival.

The theme of 2015 Jinsha Sun Festival is the Silk Road. Almost 30 colorful lanterns and tens of thousands of LED lights feature lighting scenes themed around “Flowers Blossoming in Chengdu”, “Wisdom of the Silk Road”, “Flavor of Ancient Yunnan”, “Journey in the Desert” and “Expeditionary Voyage”. They highlight the cultural heritages of the Southern Silk Road, Northern Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road. When all the lights are on at night, the Sun Festival becomes a magical ocean of light.

The 2015 Jinsha Sun Festival will wrap up on March 8.
