It is with great pleasure that I announce our very own Ernie Wooden has been appointed to the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board (TTAB) by U.S.Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced last week. TTAB serves as the advisory body to the Secretary of Commerce on matters relating to the travel and tourism industry in the Unites States.

The 32-member Travel and Tourism Advisory Board provides important guidance that helps the government address emerging issues affecting the travel sector,prioritize travel and tourism policies that will stimulate growth, and solve industry-related problems at a number of levels. The Board will also focus its efforts to ensure the President’s goal of attracting 100 million international visitors to the United States by 2021 is achieved. Members on the Board represent a broad spectrum of the travel industry, including hotels and restaurants,financial services, transportation services, as well as a variety of small and large firms from across the country.
Ernie will play an important role in helping build a stronger travel & tourism industry in the U.S. while representing our local community. His tremendous wealth of experience and unique perspective will be valuable assetsto the Board as they collaborate to ensure that America remains an attractive destination for international visitors for years to come.
