2 Sanya Cultural & Sports Centers to Be Added to Jiyang District

Two large-scale cultural and sports centers will be constructed in Jiyang District. The Baopo Xincheng Area was preliminarily chosen as the site for the center’s construction, according to local authorities.

The cultural center will provide local residents with comfortable leisure facilities, and will serve as an ideal venue for cultural activities. The sports facility will include a 40,000-seat sports stadium, a 10,000-seat sports hall, and a swimming gym, where residents will be able to take part in various physical activities.

The two projects are key initiatives aimed at boosting the city’s cultural and sports development, as part of a campaign by the city government to develop Sanya’s “soft power.” The campaign is part of a larger effort to develop Sanya into a world-class coastal tourist city.

The centers are expected to become iconic landmarks in Sanya, and to be capable of holding large-scale cultural and sports events and festivals.
