St. Petersburg Is the Most Innovative City in Russia

The city on the Neva River has improved the performance of the year 2016.In 2017, Petersburg was able to get ahead of Moscow and reach the first place in the number of innovative projects among Russian cities and regions. This was reported by the project manager of the Association of innovative Regions of Russia Roza Semenova during the Gaidar forum in RANEPA (Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration).

Thus, St. Petersburg, Moscow and the Republic of Tatarstan became the leaders of the rating. Petersburg and Moscow switched the places, unlike last year. Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kaluga, Moscow, Ulyanovsk, Samara and Tula regions were also included in the list.

Research and development, innovation and activism, as well as the socio-economic conditions for the introduction of new technologies was the criteria, which determined the selection of regions.
