City Introduction

Located in the north of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura is the first ancient capital of the country. The city is located about 208 km from the capital, Colombo, which takes about 5 hours to get there.

History and Culture

Anuradhapura has a history of 2,500 years and it became the capital of Sri Lanka in 380 BC, even after a thousand years, it was still the city where the royalty resided. The relics of the old imperial city were found in the nineteenth century and thanks to renovations, it still stands.
