After dissolution of the colonies Malacca became a member of the Malayan Federal, which will eventually become the ruling government at a later time. Malacca is famous for its food, Chinese, and Wu dishes blend of overseas Chinese (peranakan) cuisine, which is very spicy. Even today, many ancient traditional ceremony since the Portuguese occupational period is still going on, such as “Intrudu (marked Catholic lent fast starting of water), branyu (traditional dance), and Santa Cruz (the annual festival to celebrate on the streets). Zheng He led the team and some settled there and married with local Wu clan. Their descendants are known as “peranakan” locally and even today, they still keep Chinese traditional customs and etiquette of life.
