From January 2017 , foreign travelers can be returned 21% VAT of Accommodation costs. Which means accommodation costs are free of VAT. With a more favorable exchange rate, travelers visiting Argentina and capital Buenos Aires become more cost-effective.

International travelers will be able to receive a 21% VAT refund of the accommodation costs directly. VAT paid by international credit cards, or paid from foreign banks, will be refunded directly at the value of the hotel and other accommodation services.

You can directly contact the hotel for accommodation, or through the travel agencies approved by Argentine National Tourism Department.

The new VAT policy also include the breakfast service, but only if the breakfast included in the accommodation fee, other accommodation or hotel service must be invoiced separately.

As long as you can provide a passport or ID card, and the use of foreign credit card or foreign bank transfer of foreign passengers, can enjoy the accommodation VAT refund system.
