Precautions Amsterdam

The mid-March to mid-May of each year is the flowering time for the Dutch Tulip, which is the tourist season for the Netherlands. During this period, the prices of accommodation and catering will rise. If you schedule travel in the meantime, please try to prepare in advance.

The underground water in Holland is of high quality, and the tap water is safe to drink directly. The price of bottled water in supermarket is less than one euro.

Generally, Dutch supermarkets and shops are not open on Sundays and holidays.

It is reported that some people pose as Dutch police to check the traveler’s passports, as well as to steal money or stage robberies. If you encounter someone pretending to be police, please keep calm and refuse him.

Theft is rampant in Amsterdam train station and around Dam Square.

Please try not to walk in the deserted or remote street anytime. When renting a bike totour, please lock it immediately after you park, as to avoid it being stolen.

When sightseeing nearby the red-light district, please do not take photographs or video in front of those windows.
