Chocolate

The Italians love chocolate. The oldest chocolate factories in Italy were founded between the end of the 18th century and the mid-19th century, when some of the greatest names of Italian chocolate making started up: among them Caffarel, Pernigotti, Streglio, Peyrano and Venchi, all of them from Turin. In the first decade of the 20th century, came Perugina and Novi. Italy had established itself as a world chocolate producing giant. Caffarel, Perugina, Venchi, Novi, and Majani are still today the main names of chocolate in Italy.
