Longji Terraced Fields

Paddy fields are the major form of farming here and have nurtured distinctive local and ethnic cultures throughout the years. Notable rice terrace sights are in Pingan, Jinkeng and Longji counties inhabited by Zhuang and Yao minorities.

Longji Terraced Fields range from the foot to top of the mountains. Small mountains are like escargots, big mountains are like towers. Looking from above, terraced fields are in parallel or crossed lines and strips, winding like escargots, hazy like towers, showing the captivating curve beauty. They look majestic and spectacular with smooth lines and flowing shapes. It is crowned as the best of all terraces throughout the world.

Transportation

Self-drive: direction towards G80/Guang Kun Expressway/G72, enter Quan Nan Expressway, direction towards Guilin Beltway (West)/Hengyang/Airport, slightly turn right and enter Bao Mao Expressway, enter Guilin Beltway from the entrance, leave at Shuilizhong Bridge exit on Longsheng/Guilin West, direction towards Longsheng and enter G321, and then enter He Da Way to reach the destination.

Bus: terraced fields have three entrances: Pingan Village, Longji Village, and Dazhai Village. There are buses from Guilin downtown to each of these entrances. Tourists can choose by themselves. . If you want to go back to the city, you’d better leave the scenic area before 15:00.

Pingan Village entrance:

1. First take the express bus from Guilin to Longsheng County (the fare is 15 yuan, the duration is about 2 hours, departure time: 8:00, 9:10, 11:00, 12:00, 13:10, 14:00, 15:10, 16:10, l7:10, and 18:20), and then take the bus (the fare is 6.5 yuan, the duration is about 1 hour, departure time: 7:30, 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00) from Longsheng to Pingan Parking Lot (Longji), finally walk 20 minutes to Pingan Village.

2. Return trip is the same route, but note that the departure time is different. Departure time of Pingan Parking Lot - Longsheng: 7:20, 8:50, 13:00, 15:00, and 16:30.

Dazhai Village entrance:

1. First take the express bus from Guilin to Longsheng County (the same bus as Pingan Village entrance, about 1 hour/bus), and then take the bus (the fare is 6.5-8 yuan, the duration is about 1 hour, departure time: 7:00-17:00, 20 minutes/bus) from Longsheng Bus Terminal to Dahushan. Finally take a mini van or motorcycle to Dazhai, the fare is 3 yuan.

2. Reserve in advance, take Wangjinglou or Meijinglou direct buses to Dazhai, one-way fare is 40 yuan/person (the latest departure time is 16:00, ask the shop for details).

3. if there are more than four people, you can charter a car, about 600 yuan for a whole day (round trip).

Longji Village entrance:

1. If you don’t go to Dazhai Village, you can walk from the Seven Stars With Moon scenic spot in Pingan Village, about 40 minutes, spectacular terraced fields.

2. Climb up terraced fields from the road, or walk towards Longsheng County direction from Longji Junction for a few minutes, there is a small path under construction, walk along this path to Longji Village, it takes about 3 hours, and can save you the ticket.
