Pampulha Modern Ensemble

Pampulha Modern Ensemble, a masterpiece that marks the signature of important names in architecture and the arts, such as Oscar Niemeyer, Roberto Burle Marx and Cândido Portinari, became, in July 2016, World Cultural Heritage, a issued by UNESCO.

It is composed by the buildings and gardens of the San Francisco de Assis Church (Igrejinha da Pampulha), the Casino (current Pampulha Art Museum), the Casa do Baile (now Reference Center in Urbanism, Architecture and Design of Belo Horizonte) and the Yacht Golf Club (now Yacht Tennis Club), built almost simultaneously between 1942 and 1943, besides the water mirror and the edge of the Lagoon.

The region has established itself as a center of development and practice of sports and pole of entertainment and gastronomy. It is a stage for sports, cultural and leisure events.
