Elephant Hill Park

The Elephant Hill Park is composed by the pure sedimentary limestones in the seabed 360 million years ago. The Elephant Hill Scenic Area, a golden tourist attraction with international fame, encompasses green hills, clear waters, fantastic caves and beautiful rocks, boasting such notable sites as Elephant Trunk Hill, Water Moon Cave, Elephant Eye Cave, Puxian Pagoda, Sanhua Liquor Cellar, Love Island and Yunfeng Temple.

The major sight within the Scenic Area, the Elephant Trunk Hill, at the confluence of Lijiang River and Peach Blossom River, takes its name from its resemblance of an elephant taking a drink from the adjacent river.

Its fascinating resemblance of an elephant draws huge attention from the tourists, therefore it is regarded as the first of Guilin’s attractions. Its unique rock formation and long history made it the city logo of Guilin in 1995.

Transportation

1. bus: take No.2, 16, 23, 33, 57, and 58 direct bus, or take Tourist Sightseeing No.1

2. bicycle or walk tour: along Binjiang Road and Longzhu Road on the riverside of Lijiang River

3. take a night cruise along the mountain scenery
