The Moon Mountain

There is a naturally formed hole on the top of the Moon Mountain, and this makes it look like a round moon hanging there, hence the name "Bright Moon Peak", also commonly known as the Moon Mountain. The most amazing thing is when you climb up 800 stairs of flagstones, you will see the moon hole changing from full moon to first quarter moon. Finally when you reach the moon hole at the top of the mountain, you can find the Jade Rabbit and a woodcarver named Wu Gang from Moon Palace in the fine stalactites. The air is fresh on the mountain, and the view is wild open. Most foreign tourists prefer to camp and climb rocks at the top.

The best way to enjoy its panoramic view is overlooking at the foot of of the Moon Mountain. On the opposite of the Moon Mountain is Li Village, which is the best location to overlook it. Tourists can rest here after the tired riding, and then eat and overlook.

Transportation

It’s 8.5km to the south of Yangshuo.

1, ride bicycle: start from Yangshuo towards Aishan Village (Shima Road), about 1 hour ride; G321 is also an option, about 8 km, but it is crowded with vehicles and people, therefore you should be cautious when riding;

2, on foot: walk on the country road from Yangshuo to Gaotian Village, and enjoy the view along the way;

3, take rafting from Yulong River to Gongnong Bridge, and walk or ride to the Moon Mountain. It’s about 1 km.

The Moon Mountain tickets: the ticket is 15 yuan/person, climbing is 5 yuan/person. (Note: the above prices are for reference only)

Opening Hours: 7:00-18:30

Tour Time: 15 minutes to finish the Moongazing Road, and 1 hour to the top of the mountain
