Chongshan Temple, an ancient temple of more than 1000 years, has the most engraving prints of Tibetan Sculptures. It’s located in No.9 Confucian Temple Alley, Taiyuan City. The main building in the temple is the Hall of Great Compassion, which has more than 40,000 volumes of original Tibetan Sculptures of Song, Jin, Yuan and Ming Dynasties. It still has three national treasures: one is the album of paintings with 84 pictures telling story of Shakyamuni Buddha’s ascending to heaven; another is the about Sudhanakumara. These two treasures have gone through more than 600 years but the colors are still as before. The third one is a Diamond Sutra stone engraved rubbing of Tang Dynasty on Tai Mountain. These three things are honored as the three treasures of the temple. Buddha Association of Shanxi Province is located here. The incense here is vigorous; the bell rings sometimes; iron lion stands in front of the gate; travelers and pilgrims come ceaselessly; all these leave people with a peaceful and quiet feeling with a implying of seeking peace in noise and becoming Buddha by being peace inside and outside.
