Park Güell

Park Güell is located on Carmel Hill, Barcelona. Park Güell was commissioned by Eusebi Güell and designed by Antoni Gaudi. The park was built between 1900 and 1914, at the peak of Gaudi’s career. It is a reflection of Gaudi’s artistic plenitude. In the design of Park Güell, Gaudi unleashed all his architectonic genius from architecture to garden planning.

At the main entrance is the multicolored mosaic salamander, popularly known as “el drac” (the dragon), which usually get swamped by photo-taking tourists. Then, take a few steps and you will find a surrealism Disneyland.

This park was the home of Gaudi. Today, this pink house becomes the Gaudi House Museum. Park Güell was opened to the public as Gaudi House Museum on September 28th, 1963. This museum displays sets of furniture designed by Gaudi, which reflects Gaudi’s architecture aesthetic style.
