Casa Batlló was built in 1877 by Antoni Gaudi, commissioned by Lluís Sala Sánchez. It was renovated from 1904 to 1906. When designing this building, Gaudi was inspired by the legend of the Catalonian patron saint, Saint George, and his battle with the dragon.
Gaudi designed the interior of Casa Batlló based on submarine world. He designed every place with its special meaning. The chimney with a shape of cross represents hero, the roof's arched profile recalls the spine of a dragon with ceramic tiles for scales and the structure of Casa Batlló simulates human bones. Casa Batlló at night is spectacular with its colored ceramics and glass wall.
