Lijiang River

Lijiang River originates in Maoer Mountain (Xing'an County), which is the first peak in South China, and is a typical area of karst topography development. The river looks like a green satin winding amidst thousands of green mountains and peaks. The old saying is "a hundred miles Lijiang River, a hundred miles pictures gallery". On the back of new version of 20 yuan is a section of Lijiang River’s landscape.

According to different views, Lijiang River can be divided into three scenic areas. The first scenic area: Guilin city to Cattle Gorge; the second scenic area: Cattle Gorge to Water Village; the third scenic area: Water Village to Yangshuo. As the famous poem written by Han Yu in Tang Dynasty said: "the river is a green silk ribbon, and the hills look like jade hair-pins". This waterway is known as a hundred miles pictures gallery.

There is a wonderful thing about Lijiang River: the landscapes will not be influenced by time, location and climate, and each of them has its uniqueness. Lijiang River offers a variety of pictures under different weather conditions: sunny - green mountains and their reflections; cloudy - clouds over the mountains; rainy - the misty dream. Tourists love blue skies of Lijiang River, but the rainy day is better for taking photographs. It’s misty on the river. Looming mountains, clouds between peaks. Curtain of rain is like veils over the river and mountain. All of this is like a splash ink painting. "The landscape of Guilin is the best under heaven, and Lijiang River is a wonderful painting in autumn".

Transportation:

Take Guilin Railway Station – Mopanshan Dock bus line, or go to local travel agencies or Lijiang River ticket sales outlets to inquire on the departure time and location information of tourist bus. Take a taxi from downtown to Mopanshan dock will cost about 70-80 yuan.

Lijiang River tickets

There are whole rafting and essential rafting.

1, whole rafting: "Guilin - Yangshuo", retail price is about 210 yuan (including lunch on board);

2, essential rafting:

(1) "Yangdi - Xingping" section: retail price is 216 yuan/person, four people per raft. If less than 4 people, you have to add fare to rent the raft for half of the distance. After getting off, an electric scooter will take you to Xingping Bus Station to go back to Yangshuo. Contact the raftsman or travel agency to discuss the price in advance;

(2) "Yangdi - Nine Horse Fresco Hill" section: retail price is 95 yuan/person, four people per raft. If less than 4 people, you have to add fare to rent the raft. Yangdi Dock charges 118 yuan for a ticket.

(3) "Xingping - Nine Horse Fresco Hill": a raft is about 80 yuan/person, 1.5 hours

Opening Hours

For whole rafting, one raft at 9:30 and 10:00 every day; essential rafting is between 8:00-18:00, contact the raftsman for specific departure time
