Nine Horse Fresco Hill is one of the famous sceneries of Lijiang River in Guilin. It is a wonder of nature. Located 4 kilometers to the northwest of Xingping Town, it’s more than 400 meters high, 200 meters wide, standing along the river. The cliffs look like they are cut and colorful, like a giant painted screen when looking from afar. If you contemplate carefully, it’s as if there are a herd of horses in the painted screen. They are standing, lying, rising head, neighing, running like wind, looking at the sky, or leisurely foraging.

According to legend, nine horses in the painted screen are divine horses in the Heavenly Palace, but because the Monkey King who was serving as "horse feeder" at that time neglected of custody, these horses sneaked to the earth and drank water from Lijiang River. After being spotted by the painters, they were frightened and hid in the cliffs, thus stayed there forever.

According to local people, who can spot each of these nine horses here is a non-ordinary person. Primier Zhou Enlai is one of them.

Nine Horse Fresco Hill tickets: 180 yuan, rafting is free for children under 1.2 m, but need to sign the liability agreement, children between 1.2 and 1.5 m get this ticket price, student IDs get discount. (Note: the above prices are for reference only)
