University of Edinburgh

University of Edinburgh is a public research university founded in 1583, it is the sixth oldest university in Britain. Edinburgh University has a very important leadership role in the European Age of Enlightenment, which enables Edinburgh city the center of Enlightenment; it is called the "Athens of the North”. Its famous graduates include: naturalist Charles Darwin, physicist James Clark Maxwell, philosopher David Hume, mathematician Thomas Bayes, writer Arthur Conan Dower, etc. Old College is the landmark in campus, McEwan Hall, Teviot Row House and other buildings are worth visiting as well.
