At present, Guangdong Science Center (GDSC) boasts the largest scale and the most sophisticated functions in the world, covering a floor space of 450,000 square meters and a building area of 137,500 square meters. It has four major functions: popularization of science; exhibition of scientific and technological achievements; academic exchange both at home and abroad; and science tours. The Center has 8 permanent exhibition halls, experience hall of digital family, temporary exhibition halls, 6 open laboratories, 4 high-tech movie theaters (including the largest IMAX movie system in Asia), an outdoor park for scientific research, and an academic exchange center.
