Bab Agnaou, located in the south of Medina in Marrakech, near the palace, is on the red and green sandstone, carved with Quran, which used to be the door for Sudan to go through to the palace. Bab Agnaou, built in 12th century BC, the Almohad Dynasty, is one of the 19 doors in Marrakech.The name Agnaou means the black people in Berber, and thus it is also called Bakal Kohl. On the historical records, it was called BabalQsar as well, which means the door of the palace.
