Phillip Island

God gave Phillip Island to Victoria State as a gift. There is the beach, a farm, and also has rich wild animal resources to experience for all ages on this island. Visitors can watch thousands of seals as well as have a close observation of the koala habitat. While standing in Penguin protected areas of Phillip Island Nature Park, visitors can see hundreds of penguins landing from the sea every evening, walking back to the nest to spend the night along the coast.

Although you can see the penguins coming and going every day, the amount fluctuates throughout year. Usually, December every year is peak season, and then numbers gradually fall till March of the next year, then rise to a climax in May, after that it falls into another trough and gradually rises to December. The time penguins go home is usually after the sun has set. The average time is from 20:45 in January to about 20:00 in July. So you need to be prepared to leave very late if you want to see the penguins go home.
