Taiyuan East Lake Vinegar Park, located at No. 26 Madao Slope between the East Mountain Highway and the Construction North Road in Taiyuan City, was developed from the "Meihe House" Acyl Workshop established in the first year (1368) of Hongwu of Ming Dynasty. This was the original place of Shanxi aged vinegar, and the 600 years of traditional brewing technology was evaluated as the "National Intangible Cultural Heritage" by the Ministry of Culture under the State Council. Since opening in 2000, 3 million tourists from home and abroad have visited this place.
The "Lake Vinegar Park" is now called the "Best Vinegar Making Workshop in China" by insiders. Attractions include the aged vinegar and health vinegar cures parks, and the Honor Showroom of the "East Lake" brand, and the traditional brewing technology and modern line of Shanxi aged vinegar and other projects. At present, the park forms a Cultural History Museum of Shanxi Aged Vinegar for which the "Meihe House Acyl Workshop" is taken as the carrier, as well as a unique industrial tourism park for which vinegar is taken as the theme. The "East Lake Vinegar Park" was evaluated as the "National Industrial Tourism Demonstration Site" by the China National Tourism Administration in 2004, and awarded the "National 4A Level Scenic Spot" issued by the China National Tourism Administration in 2010.
