El Prat Airport, also known as Barcelona Airport, is about 16 km away from central Barcelona. The airport has two terminals: T1, mainly for flights within Europe, and T2 for international flights. There are free shuttle buses between the two terminals, about 15 minutes’ drive.

From El Prat Airport to the center of Barcelona

Airport Shuttle Bus (Aerobus A1 & A2)

Aerobus airport shuttle bus is an important means of transportation between the airport and downtown of Barcelona. Busses depart every ten minutes on average and the journey takes about 35 minutes. Main stops: Plaça Espanya, Sepúlveda Urgell, Plaça Universidad, Plaça Catalunya (there is a L1/L2/L3 metro line nearby the stops). Ticket price: €5.9 one way; €10.2 round trip (one-way ticket needs to be used within one hour after purchase, and become invalid after that; round-trip tickets are valid for 15 days, and you need to save the onward ticket).

BUS

Renfe (Train)

Renfe station is located outside terminal T2, and you can follow the signs to find it. If getting off at T1, you can take a free bus to terminal T2 before Renfe ride. R2 line goes back and forth from El Prat airport to the downtown. There is a shift every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Stops of Renfe in downtown: Plaça Catalunya, Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gracia and Clot.

Taxi

It is very easy to take a taxi from terminal T1 or T2. It takes about 30 minutes to downtown and costs about €20.
