Budapest has always been a hot but low-profile filming location, and can be counted as a little cultural European city. In Budapest, you can easily recognize the direction because of the Danube, which runs from south to north. Therefore, “Buda” is located in the west and “Pest” in the east. As we entered Budapest, we suddenly realized that Hungarians don’t speak so much English and the service workers are mainly seniors. When we decided to deposit our luggage we found that one of our luggage bags couldn’t be closed. The old man there expressed his ideas word by word to us with hospitality. He even called someone up to help us solve this problem. There are not many visitors at Fisherman's Bastion in the early morning. It was difficult to take photos of the parliament’s tall building on the other side because the camera lens was facing the sunshine. In the afternoon, we could shoot pictures of the nine bridges over the Danube. After walking around the hill once, we headed for the foot of the hill and got on the bus. But we went in the wrong direction, and the old man who didn’t speak English made all his efforts to tell us to get off at the next stop and walk to the opposite side to take the other bus. He strongly urged us not to swipe our cards. When we reached the subway station, we saw Chinese characters. Ticket checkers stood in a line in order to check passengers’ ticket, which seems like serious business. It seems that the Hungarian government encourages seniors to return to society to work to ease their pension problems (only my guess).
In fact, the reason why we came to Budapest is that we only hoped to see the extremely famous cafe during World War Two--- New York Cafe. It is said that if the two words, New York, appeared on the envelope, the letter would be directly sent to this cafe and not New York. This just shows how famous it is! When we arrived at the door of the restaurant, we realized that this was a Michelin 2-Star Restaurant.
Those who come to Hungary cannot miss the cafes here, for each cafe is lavishly decorated and is like a royal palace or an opera house, with the graceful rhythm of a classical piano wafting around your ears. These cafes are in fact inside a hotel, with the second floor only used by guests and the ground floor giving off a sense of being in the setting of old films. It was like I had gone back in time to the last century. We entered the restaurant at around 9 o’clock in the morning, and so we only ordered omelets and desserts. In fact, the dining environment was really nice, and we forgot the most delicious meals of the restaurant. The piano music was also not bad. Many people come here because of its reputation. By the way, you can also go upstairs to the second floor to take photos!
