The organizers of the 2015 Milan World Expo, held a road show in Beijing to mark the beginning of promotional activities for the Expo 2015 across China, with Wang Jinzhen, vice-chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and a representative of the China Pavilion at the Milan World Expo, in Italy, Alberto Bradanini, Italy’s ambassador in Beijing, and Cheng Hong, deputy mayor of Beijing, on hand for the activity.

Wang said that China has the world’s second largest economy and is an important agricultural country and wants to show its progress in agriculture, food supply, urbanization, and sustainable development, as well as the challenges, at the upcoming world expo, and China’s expectations for future development and exchanges with Italy and other countries.

Bradanini pointed to China as Italy s second largest trade partner, and one of the most valued participants at the Milan World Expo, especially in 2015, which marks the 45th anniversary of Sino-Italian diplomatic relations, and how the Expo is a good site for China and Italy to communicate more with on economic development, culture, and education, and economic and trade cooperation in agriculture and tourism.

Cheng explained that Beijing will show its progress in agriculture, tourism, food, and culture through small performances and displays at the Milan Expo and hold economic and trade exchanges in Milan and Rome to look for more cooperation with local businesses.

The road show for the Milan World Expo will travel to Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and five other Chinese cities from October 2014 to March 2015, with the “Star of World Expo”, a gigantic spherical screen, presenting the history of the Expo, and the history and culture of Italy, to give the Chinese a first-hand look at Milan in advance.

The 2015 World Expo will be held in Milan, Italy, May 1 to Oct 31, a global fashion and design city, with a large number of relics and world heritage sties, as well as huge commercial opportunities in apparel, art, and sports.
