WTCF Holds a Forum of “Booming Chinese Outbound Market” on the Day of the WTM Opening

【Introduction】:On November 4th, the World Travel Market (WTM) opened at the ExCel Exhibition Center, London. World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), as the content partner of WTM, participated in the trade fair and held 2 themed forums.

The Site of the Forum

On the opening day, WTCF held the first forum centered on “Booming Chinese Outbound Market”. The forum included discussions on how travelling destinations can satisfy the needs of a growing number of Chinese tourists. Moreover, experience sharing and expert interpretation were intended to understand the needs of Chinese tourists from many perspectives. The market of Chinese outbound travel has some of the greatest potential around the globe and is exerting a bigger influence on international tourism development, thus becoming a highlight for all travelling destinations. In this case, satisfying the needs of Chinese tourists means a great deal for all traveling destinations and agencies. WTCF has released several editions of the Market Research Report on Chinese Outbound Tourist (City) Consumption. The report has contributed greatly to the research on the changes to the way outbound Chinese tourists consume and travel, thus becoming a guide for a great many global cities in catering to Chinese tourists.

The Forum Guests

The senior manager of the WTCF PR Department Richard Matuzevich hosted the forum and present were Trip’s European Hotel Manager Kate Xiong, president of a famous British consulting agency Roger Carter, Italy’s vice-mayor of tourism, sports and life quality of Milan, Roberta Guaineri, manager of marketing of Edinburgh Airport Co., and member of Edinburgh ChinaReady Rob Lang, and chief of the European branch of China Daily Yu Yilei.

The WTM is one of the most renowned trade fairs of global tourism, providing a platform for the industry’s expanding business, in addition to establishing partnerships. Every year, the WTM boasts of over 70 ministers of tourism and over 3,000 international media professionals on average. This year, the WTM attracted nearly 5,000 exhibitors and more than 51,000 attendees. WTCF has issued many invitations to global partners to attend the WTM and hold themed forums, while releasing the latest research results of tourism and devoting itself to promoting the development of global tourism.
