The outbreak of COVID-19 has impeded the development of world tourism. The world is facing an urgent task of how to properly cope with the crisis and revive tourism in a rapid and orderly manner. As the world’s first international tourism organization focusing on cities, WTCF actively responds to its members’ requirements, guides them to join hands in fighting the pandemic and positively makes preparations for tourism recovery and development, so as to facilitate the industry’s revival. Therefore, WTCF has jointly compiled the Report with the world’s top-notch research institutes of tourism hospitality industry, such as University of Nevada, Las Vegas and University of North Texas.

In this report, six countries (Argentina, China, Morocco, Spain, United States, and Uzbekistan), six member-cities (Barcelona, Beijing, Buenos Aires, Casablanca, Los Angeles, and Samarkand), and four institution members (Air China, Ctrip/Trip.com, Disney, and Marriot) have been selected as cases to discuss the industry’s coping and recovery strategies and response practices amid the pandemic in order to help members and global tourism better handle the adverse influence of COVID-19.

Since its establishment in 2012, WTCF has always adhered to its core vision of Better City Life through Tourism. It has established a platform for its members to share experiences, strengthen cooperation and build a consensus. Over the years, WTCF has conducted research and released a series of research results to provide intellectual support for the global tourism industry. After years of development and its growing ability of appeal, service, guidance and influence in the tourism industry, WTCF is credited as the fastest-growing international tourism organization in the world.
